- Introduce my parents and brother to Terry's extended family, and introduce Terry's parents and brother to my extended family.
- Finish out my first year teaching with organized lesson plans that I can improve upon next year.
- Continue working out at least 3 times a week and try new types of work outs throughout the year.
- DON'T move this year.
- Continue working at Gabrielino for 2010-2011.
- Floss every day.
- Try a new "LA thing" once per month.
- Save money.
- Get bunion surgery.
- Travel to at least 3 places I've never been (Denver, DC, and TBD!).
The saving money thing was an easy one to tackle. My brother suggested that we open a joint savings account, which we did! We have talked about combining our monies for some time now, but this is our first real step in that direction. Now, honestly, we already have the "my money is your money" mentality, but we are excited to save for our future, which will simultaneously accomplish goal #8. So we set out for Bank of America (my bank) and, despite some communication issues with our teller, opened an account within thirty minutes. We're hoping to set up an automatic transfer each month to help us put away money.
We are saving for three particular "purchases": our honeymoon, our puppy, and our first house.
The Honeymoon: London and Rome

The Puppy: Old English Sheepdog or Bernese Mountain Dog

The House: We'll see...

As for the other nine goals, a few of them are in motion. My parents are coming down to LA over Easter to meet some of Terry's extended family; we've flossed every day since the beginning of the year (it's a team goal); we're visiting Denver this weekend; we went to Point Dume ("new LA thing" for the month!) this past weekend!
If you have your own goals, please share! It's fun to hear how ambitious people are and what different people choose to focus on in their lives.
Coming soon: Engagement pictures!
I will never ever let you live in a house like the last picture. The four of us will be crammed into a teeny studio apartment sleeping on a twin mattress before I let that happen.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the flossing by the way! I need to commit to that too. Too late for me now... maybe in 2011.
